Springtime and summertime signals the return of outdoor dining and grilling, more time for entertaining friends and a yearning for quick, lighter cuisine. Our classes are enjoyed by men and women of all levels and are held in our new, beautifully renovated, well-equipped teaching kitchen in Alexandria, Virginia.  A variety of international cuisines are featured including Italian, Spanish, French, Mediterranean and Thai.  Included are clear, easy to follow recipes emphasizing technique and creativity and a complete dinner with wine or traditional drink is served. We’re happy to feature our culinary herb and vegetable garden of fresh-picked produce. Come join the fun!

MARGARITAVILLE PARTYTIME DINNER

Our most requested spring/summer class!  Barbeque season is back and with sizzling new ideas for your backyard bashes. Discover great techniques for charcoal and gas grill, fun marinades and sauces, and easy smoking with flavored woods and herbs. We’ll grill with meats, seafood, vegetables and even fruits. SPANISH TAPAS HORS D’OEUVRES PARTY I

ABOUT THE TEACHER: Judy Harris' classes have been featured in The Washingtonian Magazine, Alexandria Port Packet/Gazette, The Journal, The Washington Post, Crystal City Etc. and Better Homes and Gardens.  She is a popular cooking instructor in her twenty-eighth year of teaching.  She has offered classes with the Fairfax County Adult Education Program, Bloomingdale's, Williams-Sonoma, Fresh Fields and Physicians Committee For Responsible Medicine.  She established a successful bakery stand at the Old Town Alexandria Farmer's Market and has cooked for two Georgetown restaurants – The American Café and The Big Cheese.  She has earned two diplomas at L'Academie de Cuisine where she also has taught, and has studied French Regional Cuisine in Paris at LaVarenne.  She earned the title of Certified Culinary Professional of the International Association of Culinary Professionals. She made her television debut with several shows on "Metropolitan Magazine."

PRIVATE CLASSES: Over the years students have arranged memorable classes for unique birthday parties, corporate team building venues, alumni, gourmet and garden clubs, bachelorettes and going away dinners, singles and couples events, etc.  Twelve-student minimum. You choose the menu and date.  We do the rest.
REGISTER: Please send check with registration form below.  Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.  No notification is given unless a class is already full.  Hurry!  Classes fill fast!  Next brochure will be September 2007.
CANCELLATIONS:  In order to receive a refund or credit for another class, students must give at least 7 full days notice of cancellation by telephone only. You may send a friend in your place.  There are absolutely no exceptions.
WANTED -- CLASS ASSISTANTS: Seeking two additional assistants in exchange for free classes.  Must be a neat, organized, efficient, quick paced, experienced cook, available 2-3 times a month with a flexible schedule, available from 6 P.M. to approximately 11 P.M.  Please call Judy at (703) 768-3767 for an application as soon as possible.
